New Yorkers have proven to be resilient throughout the state's history. As Spitzer's scandal unfolds before their eyes, it proves once more, New Yorkers are ready for anything. Next up is David Paterson, and New York seems prepared.

Governor Eliot Spitzer's dramatic downfall is the buzz of the Big Apple.
Word of Spitzer's resignation was all the people were talking about on their way to work and on the lunch hour.
"The guy did what he did, made the mistake, came public and said he made the mistake, he didn't deny it. What else do you want him to do?" said Frank Gallo of West New York.
"It's shocking only because he's taken such a hard stand on that in the past, he comes out as a hypocrite, so yes it comes across as a shock," said Stacey Jenkins.
And then there was sympathy.
"I feel a little bad for his family. I am not sure he did something that a million other guys haven't done in their lives but he's the governor so he has to pay the price a little heavier than most," said Ed Cleary of Nyack.
When Spitzer's resignation becomes official March 17, and Lt. Gov. David Paterson takes his place, New Yorkers are confident the transition will go smoothly. After all, these are New Yorkers we're talking about.
"I think New York will be fine. This is a very resilient city. We've had many leaders, there will be many more to come. And that's the way it normally is," said Eric Schaffer of the Upper West Side.
"It is definitely a blemish, but Mr. Paterson has history in New York, him being from Harlem. I think he represents the city just as well and I think he will do a nice job," John Flowers of Brooklyn told CBS 2.
Many say news of his resignation is not what they are focusing on from this point forward, rather it's time to turn their attention and focus on the man who will be the head of the state come Monday.
