NJ Regulators Poised To Approve Green Plans
NEWARK (CBS) ―
New Jersey regulators are expected to approve energy efficiency projects from three utilities Wednesday.
They'll cost $300 million and supporters say will directly create about 1,000 new jobs.
The projects are labor intensive and include energy audits for all the state's 3.7 million buildings.
The Board of Public Utilities approved a package of accelerated infrastructure projects totaling $956 million in April. The plan to replace aging equipment, such as power lines, is expected to create about 1,300 jobs.
The BPU is responsible for ensuring safe, adequate, and proper utility services in New Jersey.
