A search is underway by New York State Police after a woman was pulled over by a man pretending to be an officer, before he robbed the woman at gunpoint.
The incident happened Saturday evening around 5:45 p.m. on the northbound side of the Taconic State Parkway, just south of the Croton reservoir in Yorktown.
The victim told police an unmarked blue Chevy Tahoe approached her from behind with blue flashing lights, signaling to pull her over. When she did, she said the driver walked up to her vehicle, produced a handgun, and stole her purse before fleeing the scene.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, 40-45 years old, about 5-foot-9, with muscular build. The victim said the suspet was bald and clean-shaven, and was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue cargo pants.
Police are asking anyone with information connected to the case should call state police at 914-742-6400.
