Man Found Dead Inside Burning Queens Apartment

The cause of the fire was undetermined as of Sunday.

An elderly man is found dead inside a burning apartment in Queens.
Fire officials said the blaze began in a bedroom on the second floor of the apartment building in the Fresh Meadows section. That is where they discovered the dead 76-year-old.
The cause of the fire was under investigation Sunday. The fire marshall does not believe it was suspicious.
"He was a very nice person. On occasion I've gone to the supermarket to help him with some groceries, things like that," said Mike, the victim's neighbor.
The exact cause of death has yet to be determined. Officials have not yet released the victim's name.
The victim was released from the hospital nearly a month prior to the tragedy, and received daily visits from a nurse.
