Average Gas Price In N.J. Falls Below $3
HAMILTON, N.J. (AP) ―
The average price of gasoline in New Jersey is $2.99.
That's the first time since March that gasoline in the state is below $3. But still up from the average pump price for regular of $2.53 a year ago.
AAA-Mid-Atlantic says prices have been on the decline since July 8, when average prices at the pump hit a record high of $4-per-gallon.
Motor club spokesman David Weinstein says prices could fall another 20 cents statewide before Thanksgiving.
South Jersey counties along the Delaware River have the lowest average in the state, $2.88. In Middlesex, Hunterdon and Somerset counties, they're $3.01.
