NY Police Arrest Man In Deaths Of Mother, Daughter
GENEVA, N.Y. (CBS) ―
Police in New York have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing deaths of a woman and her 12-year-old daughter in their home in Geneva.
Geneva Police officials say John Edward Brown, of Palmyra, was arrested Friday on charges of murder and parole violation.
Police say the bodies of 34-year-old Helen Buchel and her daughter, Brittany Passalacqua, were found dead of knife wounds just before 4 p.m. Friday.
Chief of Police Frank Payne described it as a domestic incident and said Brown was Buchel's boyfriend. He did not give a possible motive, nor did he say how the bodies were discovered.
Ontario County District Attorney R. Michael Tantillo said the killings happened around midnight Thursday. He said the parole violation involved an assault conviction of an infant in 2003.
Brown is due to appear in Geneva City Court on Monday.
Geneva is
256 miles northwest of New York City.
