S.I. Boy Accused Of Scrawling Slurs On Classmate
NEW YORK (AP) ―
A 15-year-old Staten Island boy has been arrested, accused of scrawling racist comments on a classmate's clothing.
The district attorney's office says the boy has been charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime. The case has been turned over to Family Court because of the boy's age.
The boy reportedly admitted that he wrote "KKK 4 life" on the classmate's leg and "KKK" on his sweater. KKK is the acronym for the Ku Klux Klan.
The Staten Island Advance says the boy told authorities he was goaded into using chalk to write the racist comments during class Monday at St. Peter's Boys High School.
The victim was unaware of the scrawls until he got home.
