Mother, Son Tied Up In Brooklyn Home Invasion

Cops Searching For 2 Male Suspects

BROOKLYN (CBS) ― A Brooklyn woman and her son were tied up in a violent home invasion in Bath Beach. CBS 2 was live at the scene as police intensified their search for the suspects.

Police say two suspects entered the house, gaining entry through a fire escape, tying up a 47-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son.

The homeowner, Frank DiMari, was absolutely ripped over the fact that someone invaded his home and tied up his wife and teenage son.

"How would you feel if someone came in. How would you feel?" said DiMari.

Neighbors told police they heard the dog barking uncharacteristically around 2 a.m. as someone pushed their way into the invaded home.

"It was a classic home invasion. Everybody's fine, I have no more comment," DiMari told CBS 2.

DiMari, who neighbors say works in distribution for the Daily News, was not home at the time of the invasion. The incident has neighbors of the Bath Beach community rattled.

"You never expect something like that to happen around here. They seem like very nice people," said John Nicholas.

Cops say the two suspects displayed a gun, tied up the two victims and stole money and jewelry. No one was injured in the invasion.
