In the wake of rising energy, food, and health care prices, a recent survey found that nearly 1 in 10 workers took a second job this year to help make ends meet.
But where do you look to earn extra cash?
CBS 2's Kirstin Cole found there are interesting opportunities available, some that even let you work from home.
"You need two jobs. You need a couple with two jobs each just to make gas money," says Yonkers resident Richard Torres.
And East New York resident Craig Sydoowitz says that may not even be enough. "I got a second job too. I need a third job with the way things are going," he says.
They're not alone, as one recent job forecast found 24 percent of workers say they're considering it.
But have no fear.
"There are jobs out there," says Cathy McCarthy, Senior Vice President of SnagAJob.com
And employment experts say now is time to land one.
"The largest number of hiring managers are beginning to hire in October, so this is the month to get an application in," saye McCarthy.
McCarthy says there are countless postings for part-time positions offering very flexible hours to stay-at-home moms and the already employed.
"Jobs like working in a movie theater, pizza delivery, home package delivery like UPS, FedEx," she adds.
As well as holiday positions with department, discount, and toy stores.
"Consider things like product demonstrators," says McCarthy. "They are looking for people to go into homes and clubs and give demonstrations of food samples."
And think seasonal, says McCarthy.
"RGIF Inventory Services are hiring right now for people to help companies do end of the year inventories," she says.

If you prefer to work from home, check out sites like elance.com, where you can find classifieds for freelance writers and project managers. Or put your home computer to work by doing data entry, word processing, or proof reading. You can even sell unwanted items on eBay.
"Don't feel that if you don't have experience you don't have an opportunity, because you do," says McCarthy.
Work at home scams are still all over the Internet. Remember: never pay for a job up front, and check them out before you sign up for anything.
