A counselor with New York City's Department of Juvenile Justice is charged with sexually abusing teenagers at the Manhattan Family Court.
Tony Simmons, 45, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of rape, sexual abuse and criminal sex act involving three girls. One of the alleged victims, identified as a 15-year-old girl, says Simmons engaged in sexual intercourse with her at the Manhattan Family Court.
Simmons has been a juvenile counselor with the Department of Juvenile Justice for 16 years.
Department of Investigation Commissioner Rose Gill Hearn says the alleged incidents took place in 2005 and 2008.
Defense attorney Richard Cherney says Simmons "absolutely denies all the charges."
The Manhattan district attorney's office says witnesses picked Simmons out of a lineup earlier Tuesday.
If convicted on all counts, Simmons faces up to 20 years in prison.
