A passenger who touched off an evacuation at Kennedy International Airport last month has pleaded guilty to violating airport security rules.
Authorities say William Contreras Ramos, 20, of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, was waiting at JFK for his flight to Albany International Airport on October 30 when he went outside to smoke a cigarette and realized he didn't have his boarding pass or wallet.
Ramos then went through an exit door, ignored a guard who tried to stop him and boarded his flight. He was arrested on arrival in Albany and a small straight razor was found in his carry-on luggage.
He faces up to a year in prison when he's sentenced on the federal charge in January.
