Low-Income N.J. Kids Still Waiting For Flu Shots

TRENTON (AP) ― There are conflicting versions of who is to blame for delays that are forcing low-income children in New Jersey to wait for their flu shots.

State officials point the finger at a distribution system implemented by the federal government.

However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tell The Star-Ledger of Newark they didn't receive New Jersey's order until about two weeks ago.

Doctors are not allowed to use their general flu vaccine supply for youngsters enrolled in the federal program.
