Overturned Car Suspends LIRR Long Beach Service
LONG BEACH, N.Y. (CBS) ―
Service has been temporarily suspended on Long Island Rail Road's Long Beach Branch due to an overturned car on the tracks at Centre Avenue, CBS 2 HD has learned.
Buses have been ordered to accommodate customers between Lynbrook and Long Beach for the Tuesday morning commute.
Chopper 2 HD was over the scene near Forest and Rocklyn Avenues as emergency crews extricated a woman passenger. The extent of her injuries is still unknown.
The incident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Police are trying to determine what caused the car to overturn on the tracks.
