L.I. High School Student Arrested For Bomb Threats

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) ―

A Long Island student is accused of calling bomb threats in to his high school and one other.

Suffolk County police say they arrested the 18-year-old Massapequa resident on two charges of falsely reporting an incident. The teenager is a senior at Amityville (AM'-it-ee-vill) High School.

Police say a first bomb threat was called in to Copiague (COH'-payg) High School, which was evacuated and searched, with no bomb found. A similar call was made to Amityville High School, which also was evacuated and searched with nothing found.

A telephone message left at a number listed for the teenager's family wasn't returned. Another number was busy.
