A new report shows an increase in delays throughout New York City's subway system.
The report to the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority documents a 24 percent spike in the number of delays over the year ending in May.
The statistics show that the No. 4 subway line had the poorest record, reaching its destination 79.7 percent of the time on average for the 12-
month period.
New York City Transit President Howard Roberts says he can't fully explain the causes of the increased delays.
He says the agency will look at ways to improve on-time performance, including skip-stop service.
