Terrorism Drill Planned For NY Harbor
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
New York City police and the Coast Guard plan a terrorism drill near Ellis and Liberty Islands in New York Harbor.
The NYPD Special Operations Division have scheduled the drill between noon and 1 p.m. Thursday.
It will simulate a report of shots fired on a New York Waterways vessel, followed by lost contact with the crew. The drill also will include an NYPD helicopter.
The NYPD is the largest police force in the United States, established in 1845. The NYPD is responsible for the five boroughs of New York City.
