A police officer who took three bullets during a shootout in a Bronx subway station is finally out of the hospital.
More than 100 police officers were on hand to applaud wounded officer Annmarie Marchiondo Friday as she rolled out of the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases in a wheelchair.
Marchiondo was hospitalized for 28 days after the Sept. 7 shooting.
Police say a man being detained for riding between subway cars grabbed the officer in a headlock and pulled a gun.
Two other officers shot and killed the suspect in an exchange of gunfire. Marchiondo was wounded in the hip, ankle and foot. She still isn't walking yet, but she says she feels fine.
