Domestic Dispute Ends In Police-Involved Shooting
BRONX (CBS) ―
Police responding to a domestic dispute fatally shot a man in the Bronx.
Five plainclothes officers wearing their shields around their necks, and a sergeant in an NYPD jacket were called to the fifth floor of the 2710 Bainbridge Ave. just before midnight.
They said a 40-year-old man who lived at the building refused to drop a bat he was holding, and instead lunged at them. Police said they shot him once in the chest.
One neighbor described the scene: "There was a lot of cops, and when homicide came, there was even more. They closed everything down. It's weird to see something like that, so it must've been something serious" a neighbor said.
The man who was shot was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
