Death Of Man Found In Putnam Lake Not Suspicious
LAKE CARMEL, N.Y. (AP) ―
Police say the death of a man whose body was found floating in a Putnam County lake last week is not being considered suspicious.
Police in Kent were summoned Thursday night by a report of a man floating in the water of Lake Carmel near Beach Three. Police recovered the body and it was identified Friday as that of 54-year-old Carey Sandberg of Hartsdale.
Kent police say Sandberg had been reported missing to the Greenburgh Police Department in Westchester 48 hours before his body was found.
Sandberg's car was found at Lake Carmel.
An autopsy was conducted Saturday, but police say the official cause of death wouldn't be determined until toxicological tests were completed.
