A Newark taxi driver will be honored by the city Wednesday after reuniting a violin left in his back seat with the musician who left it there.
What's the big deal?
The instrument is more than 280 years old and valued at $4 million.
Mohamed Khalil found the rare 1723 Antonio Stradivari Ex-Keisewetter violin in his back seat on Monday. It was left there by one of his passengers, Grammy-nominated classical violinist Philippe Quint, who had spent months just begging the instrument's owner to lend it two him.
Quint spent two frantic days trying to track it down, before Khalil spotted it Tuesday night while waiting for a fare at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker will honor Khalil for his good deed during a Wednesday afternoon news conference.
In a statement released by Quint, he said he was "incredibly grateful" to Khalil.
