Hamilton, N.J. Tree Headed For Rockefeller Center

HAMILTON, N.J. (CBS/AP) ― Christmas is coming.

Workers in western New Jersey are cutting down the tree that will herald the season at New York's Rockefeller Center.

The 72-foot tall Norway spruce is on the grounds of Tree King nursery in Hamilton, which is owned by the Varanyak family.

Rockefeller Center says the 8-ton tree will be raised by a crane, placed on a trailer and trucked into New York City. It will be erected over the ice rink on Friday.
