NY Student Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Girl
OWEGO, N.Y. (AP) ―
A 23-year-old student teacher is facing charges she had sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Amy Miller of Vestal was being held Tuesday in the Tioga County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
Miller was a graduate student in special education at Binghamton University's teacher education program and had taught at Union-Endicott High School and Owego Free Academy.
Police say the victim was one of Miller's students but they did not say which school she attended.
Miller is charged with third-degree committing a criminal sexual act and child endangerment.
A spokeswoman says Miller has been suspended by Binghamton University and removed from all coursework and related teaching assignments.
State police don't know if she has a lawyer.
