Authorities say they've arrested a passenger from a stolen SUV that crashed into another vehicle, killing an innocent bystander in New Jersey's largest city.
Karleaf Patton is held in the Essex County Jail on $500,000 bail and is charged with felony murder.
Authorities say the 18-year-old is suspected of being part of a burglary team that fled into Newark after breaking into vehicles in Elizabeth.
Police say Patton was riding in the SUV when it collided with Heather Clemens' car Tuesday. The 42-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspected driver, 19-year-old Kirtrell Gadson of Irvington, remains at large.
Clemens was a mother of three. Her ex-husband told CBS 2 that he hoped the suspects would turn themselves in.
