NYC Suspicious Package Report A False Alarm

NEW YORK (AP) ― New York City police say a report of a suspicious package at Pennsylvania Station turned out to be a false alarm.

Police responded to the area at Seventh Avenue and 32nd Street in Midtown Manhattan. The call came around 2:25 p.m. Friday and police finished searching twenty minutes later.

Amtrak spokeswoman Karina Romero says that authorities temporarily shut down a section of the Seventh Avenue passageway. She says train service was not affected.

Police briefly cordoned off the east side of Penn Station to passengers.
