1 NJ Teen Charged With Beating Another To Death
PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) ―
One New Jersey teenager was charged with reckless manslaughter in the death of another who refused to fight.
Police said 18-year-old Lavance Gadsden wanted 15-year-old Laron Brown to go with him Saturday to confront some teens after they had exchanged words with. Brown refused.
Authorities said Gadsden later punched Brown in the chest.
The medical examiner said the blow led to fatal heart failure.
The victim and suspect attended Pemberton Township High School.
Gadsden is held in the Burlington County Jail on $150,000 bail.
The school has a student body of around 1,300.
