A suburban Westchester County park has reopened to the public, a day after a man's body was found stuffed inside a large suitcase abandoned in the park.
County police passed out fliers inside Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers on Friday and asked park-goers if they had noticed anything suspicious the day before.
A county police spokesman says a parks worker made the grim discovery when he went to remove the abandoned black canvas suitcase on wheels near the park's entrance on Thursday.
The county medical examiner's office says the body had no identification papers and had died recently.
Police described the man as Hispanic, and between 50 to 60 years of age. They say he was wearing gray pants and a striped short-sleeved pullover shirt with a white collar.
