Styler Tells Conn. Grads to Transform Lives

Delivers commencement address at Southern Connecticut State University

New Haven, Conn. (CBS) ― Environmental activist Trudie Styler, wife of the rock star Sting, is urging graduates of a Connecticut university to commit themselves to transforming others' lives.

Styler delivered the commencement address Friday to almost 1,400 new graduates at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.

She told the graduates that each of them can change their lives and those of others by embracing environmental responsibility and good citizenship.

Styler and her husband are involved in several charities and founded the nonprofit Rainforest Foundation in 1989. Its goal is to help protect rainforest and indigenous people in South America, Africa and Asia.
