Man Uninjured After PATH Train Rolls Over Him

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBS) ― It was a close call for a New York City man who fell on the tracks at the Pavonia Avenue PATH station in Jersey City.

Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman says the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, fell off the platform and rolled into the center of the tracks Saturday night.

Coleman says a World Trade Center-bound train from Hoboken rumbled into the station and three-quarters of the train covered the spot where the man had fallen.

The 32-year-old crawled out from under the train unscathed.

The man was taken to Jersey City Medical Center as a precaution. Officials have not released his name.

The Pavonia station is located off Washington Boulevard on Pavonia Avenue in Newport development and is served by Hoboken and Journal Square-33rd Street and Hoboken-World Trade Center lines.
