NYC Subway Hero Spreading Colon Cancer Awareness
Spokesman For City's Health And Hospital Corporation
NEW YORK (AP) ―
Subway hero Wesley Autrey remains a man of good deeds.
On Tuesday, he was helping spread awareness about colon cancer as spokesman for the city's Health and Hospitals Corporation.
Standing outside a health center in Harlem, the 52-year-old Autrey distributed pamphlets about the disease and urged passers-by to get a colonoscopy. The screening is recommended for everyone 50 and older.
Autrey was nicknamed "subway superman" in Jan. 2, 2007 for saving a young man who had fallen onto the subway tracks after suffering a seizure.
