Snow Storm Leaves Tri-State, Icy Roads Behind
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
The winter storm that arrived over the tri-state Saturday, sprinkling snow and wintry mixes across the region, is mostly over.
Spotty light freezing rain or light snow is possible Sunday morning, but accumulation in the city was minimal. Even though the bulk of the wintry precipitation has ended, many roads and surfaces will remain slick because of ice accumulation.
"You may notice a tiny bit of residual freezing drizzle and maybe a flurry or two out there, but for the most part, for most of use in the tri-state, this system is over," CBS 2HD's Elise Finch said.
"We have seen some pretty decent snowfall numbers. This was not a blizzard by any stretch of the imagination, it was never supposed to be, but it is the first significant snowfall of 2009." Finch said.
