6 Wolf-Hybrid Dogs Escape NJ Home For 4th Time
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Several wolf-hybrid dogs have escaped from a fenced property in northwestern New Jersey -- the fourth time this year the animals have gotten loose.
In the latest incident, six dogs escaped their 9-acre enclosure in Holland Township on Wednesday, although one was captured a short time later. Cliff Zager, the animals' owner, says they got out through a fence gate that somehow had been pulled out of its hinges.
Police have said the dogs are not aggressive, but could become troublesome if cornered.
No one has been injured by the animals, but police say the dogs killed two domestic turkeys the last time they got out. Zager has said that could have been the work of coyotes, which are found in the area and resemble his dogs.
Holland Township is located in New Jersey's Hunterdon County.
