You may notice something new at Krispy Kreme donut shops.
The chain is now selling a whole wheat donut with fewer calories.
The 100-percent whole wheat doughnut has only 180 calories.
It has a caramel flavoring and is covered with the doughnut-maker's original glaze.
Krispy Kreme sales started slipping three years ago as the company expanded operations during the height of the low-carb craze.
Officials hope the new product helps the company get back on track.
The new donut went on sale Monday and customers may also find them at grocery and convenience stores where Krispy Kreme products are sold.
