N.J. Teacher Ill From Powder Found In Envelope
Elementary School Class Quarantined
WILLINGBORO, N.J. (CBS) ―
Police in Willingboro, N.J., have quarantined an elementary school class after a teacher was sickened by a white powder in an envelope.
CBS affiliate WCBS-TV has learned that the other 425 students at Garfield East Elementary School were taken to a nearby school as a precaution.
The teacher, whose name was not released, is at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Burlington County. Her condition is not available.
The number of students being kept in the teacher's class is not immediately available.
Officials have not determined the nature of the powder or who sent it.
