Pair Of French Aid Workers Captured In Afghanistan

PARIS (AP) ― French aid group Action Against Hunger says two of its workers have been kidnapped in Afghanistan and are believed to still be alive.

The Paris-based group said Friday the two were taken at gunpoint early Friday morning from the house where they were sleeping in the province of Day Kundi.

The statement says the kidnappers entered the house after tying up the guards posted outside and made off with the French workers in waiting vehicles.

France's Foreign Ministry confirmed the kidnapping.

Two French aid workers from another humanitarian group, Terre d'Enfance, were kidnapped last year and held for weeks before being released.
