A 14-year-old was arrested after reportedly planning a 'Columbine'-type event at a high school in Pennsylvania Thursday.
Police received a tip call saying the home-schooled teen was plotting an attack on Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School.
After receiving permission from the teen's parents, police conducted a search of the teen's home and recovered a cache of weapons.
Officers recovered a 9mm assault rifle, various realistic air guns, explosive black powder and four hand grenades, one of which was active.
Authorities said the teen had been constructing the three inactive grenades in order to make them operational.
Books on how to make explosives, videos of the Columbine shooting and notebooks full of plans, and details of violent acts were also recovered from the teen's home.
"I do not think an attack was imminent and I am not certain that an attack was going to occur at all," District Attorney Bruce L. Castor Jr. said. "It could have simply been big talking by a kid who thought that he was bullied previously and he was going to exact his revenge."
Police believe it was an isolated incident and there is no longer a threat to the school or students.
While some parents picked their children up from school after being notified of the incident, officials said classes were being held as usual.
