Agents were eyeing 25-year-old Najibullah Zazi of Denver as part of the first suspected al-Qaida cell they've uncovered in the U.S. since 9/11. Zazi insisted on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, that he is not a terrorist.

He maintains he's done nothing wrong. Still, the man at the center of a multi-state anti-terrorism investigation is scheduled to undergo another round of questioning Thursday.
The FBI questioned Najibula Zazi for more than eight hours in Denver on Wednesday, but he was not arrested.
"He answered every question they had," Zazi's attorney, Arthur Folsom, said. "He's providing a handwriting sample and DNA."
Agents have also pored over several boxes of evidence they took from Zazi's home. He's suspected of having links to al-Qaida, and being involved in a potential bomb plot, which he denies.
"I have nothing to do with al-Qaida, any link or anything to do with al-Qaida," Zazi said.
Over the 9/11 weekend, Zazi was in Queens.
On Monday, agents raided homes in Flushing where Zazi had been a guest, recovering backpacks and cell phones, among other items.
Authorities say those items are not uncommon until you factor in trips they say Zazi took to terrorist training camps in Pakistan, where he learned about bombs and had contact with al-Qaida.
Later, while in Queens, officials say Zazi inquired about hydrogen peroxide, which terrorists use to make bombs.
"It talks about peroxide and it talks about the burns, the possibility of someone being burnt," NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said. "But I think it covers more subjects than just that."
Zazi is a 25-year-old airport shuttle van driver. He's staying with his parents near Denver.
