The building where Long Island congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy's office is located was briefly evacuated after a suspicious package was found.
Nassau County Police say they received a call at about 9:50 a.m. Friday.
Arson, bomb squad and other police personnel went to the congresswoman's Garden City office.
The building was evacuated as police examined the package. Officer Carolyn Kasdorf says nothing dangerous or explosive was found and the evacuation was called off at about noon.
A spokesman for the congresswoman declined to comment, citing security concerns.
