NEW YORK (CBS) ― Fueled by the most-watched primetime line-up in the market and the double-digit increases delivered by many of its local newscasts and syndicated series, WCBS-TV continued its impressive Nielsen ratings rise last month. CBS 2 finished the February sweep as the No. 2 station in New York, sign-on to sign-off (Monday-Sunday, 6 a.m. - 2 a.m.), both in adults 25-54 and total viewers.

This represents the CBS network flagship station's best finish in the key adults 25-54 demographic during a major, non-Olympic sweep (February, May or November) since November 1991.

CBS 2 averaged a 1.6 rating from sign-on to sign-off in adults 25-54 - the station's highest February sweep average since 1999.

WCBS-TV delivered the most year-to-year growth in adults 25-54 (up 23 percent) and total viewers (up 17 percent) of any television station in the market from sign-on to sign-off.

In primetime, CBS 2 ranked first in total viewers (865,000 people, up 28 percent compared to February 2006) and finished second in adults 25-54 (4.5 rating, up 25 percent compared to last February).

Coinciding with the February ratings increases for several WCBS-TV newscasts, WCBSTV.com attracted 7.52 million page views last month - up 318 percent compared to the site's 1.80 million page views in February 2006.

Peter Dunn, President & General Manager, CBS 2, said: "Our growth and success is driven by the outstanding contributions made by our employees each and every day. This is an exciting time for everyone here and we look forward to building toward being even more successful in the future."
