CBS 2 Promotes Shelley To Director, Digital Media

NEW YORK WCBS-TV has promoted Dan Shelley to Director of Digital Media effective immediately. In this new post, Shelley will oversee all sales and editorial content for WCBSTV.com and the station's other digital content delivery platforms.

Previously, Shelley served as Executive Editor of Digital Media for WCBS-TV and WCBSTV.com, where he headed an editorial team that grew traffic more than 300% in 2007, compared to 2006.

"Dan has done a phenomenal job overseeing the digital side of WCBS-TV," said Peter Dunn, President and General Manager. "With his leadership and execution, Dan has turned WCBSTV.com into the fastest-growing local TV news website in the country's number one market .We are very excited for Dan on this well-deserved promotion."

Prior to joining WCBS-TV and WCBSTV.com, Shelly served as news director and assistant program director for WTMJ-AM, Wisconsin's top-rated radio station. He also helped coordinate operations for the Green Bay Packers Radio Network, the Milwaukee Brewers Radio Network and the Milwaukee Bucks Radio Network.

From April 2005 through April 2006, Shelley served as chairman of the Radio-Television News Directors Association. During his term as chairman, he focused the organization on the digital media revolution. From April 2006 through April 2007, Shelley served as chairman of the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation, the education arm of RTNDA. He is also a former two-term president of the Wisconsin Associated Press Broadcasters Executive Committee and a former two-term president of the Missouri Associated Press Broadcasters Association.

Shelley joined Newsradio 620 WTMJ in September 1995 after 15 years at KTTS-AM/FM in Springfield, Missouri, which had one of that state's largest radio news operations. While in Springfield, he also hosted a number of news and public affairs programs for public television.

Shelley graduated cum laude from Southwest Missouri State University, now known as Missouri State University, with a degree in electronic media communications. He also taught broadcast writing and broadcast performance courses. He currently resides in Manhattan.
