Easy Home Workout To Shed Those Holiday Pounds
by Tanya Rivero
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
Tis the season for festivities and feasting, and it's always fun to partake in a hefty dosage of both. But if you want to abate the damage just a bit, CBS 2 offers a quick workout you can do at your home, courtesy personal trainer John Sitaras.
Sitaras tells CBS 2's Tanya Rivero that many of his clients find themselves eating more sweets during the holiday season, despite the fact that they're trying to keep their health and diet in check.
"I can't tell them to eat less, but what I can tell them is to exercise more," said Sitaras, who founded Sitaras Fitness.
To help counter all the indulging, Sitaras put together a quick home workout even beginners can do -- all you'll need are a pair of dumbbells, a chair, and a rug. The workout should only take about 15 to 20 minutes and each exercise should be performed for a total of two sets, with 10 repetitions in each set and about 90 seconds of rest in between sets.
1. BICEP CURLS
2. OVER-THE-HEAD PRESS
3. FRONTAL RAISES
4. SIDE LATERALS
5. SHOULDER FLY
6. PUSH-UPS
7. FUNCTIONAL SQUATS
8. HAMSTRING AND QUAD STRETCH
9. ABDOMINALS (MID, LOWER, AND UPPER)
