Police are looking for a thief who has pilfered doctor's offices and medical centers across Manhattan, and after a months-long crime spree, police have finally identified her.
Police identify the suspect as 26-year-old Jessica Brown, who is 5-foot-8, with a thin build and long hair. Police have surveillance video and a mug shot.
Only now, say police, have they come up with the woman's identify, after a series of thefts from professional offices.
According to police, grand larcenies were committed at seven locations five on the Upper East Side, two on the Upper West Side.
Cash, credit cards, bank cards and IDs were taken, mostly from unattended women's purses. In one case, a wallet was lifted from pants hanging on a door.
The thefts occurred, about one per month, from mid-April through mid-August. Patients and medical workers said they try not to be careless with their valuables.
"It's put in a locker, locked in a locker always," patient Tina McCarthy said.
"Well, I wouldn't walk into another room and leave it in another room," patient Christine Sowin said.
Police are hoping someone knows Jessica Brown's whereabouts.

Police say the suspect would pose as a patient to gain access to waiting areas.
