Sex For Green Card: INS Agent Pleads Not Guilty
Woman's Secret Recordings May Be Irrefutable Evidence
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
It is a shocking allegation.
Did a U.S. Immigration agent trader sex for a chance at citizenship?
The agent appeared in court on felony charges Wednesday. He says he's not guilty, but as CBS 2 HD has learned, his accuser has proof.
He is charged with demanding sex in exchange for a green card. Issac Biachu, 48, was allegedly caught on tape by a young Colombian immigrant who says she felt pressured to deliver.
Female: "If I do it
when I can get my green card?"
Male: "Once I get a file and stamp it approved. It takes about a month after that to get your green card."
The woman secretly recorded the INS agent on her cell phone as they sat in his car.
Male: "There's a lot of people who have problems with immigration. A lot of Colombian people do. And I like to help people. And I know nobody gonna help you for nothing."
Female: "Of course."
And according to prosecutors the victim complied, agreeing to oral sex.
"He's obviously being portrayed as a monster," said Sally Attia, Biachu's lawyer. "He has pleaded not guilty, and we are going to wait to see what happens."
The woman told prosecutors that Biachu consider the first sex act as some sort of down payment towards the green card, telling her he wanted more.
Male: "Once or twice, you know, I see you. Because I don't have nobody. I need, you know, I need love too."
His agency has suspended him with pay, and the inspector general of Homeland Security is reviewing his other cases.
If convicted, Biachu will face up to seven years in prison.
