Pizza Worker Robbed...By Her Father In Disguise!

Crook Knocked Out By Co-Workers, Leading To Jaw-Dropping Discovery

DENTON, Texas (CBS) ― It sounds like a crime right out of Scooby Doo: a man in disguise who tried to rob a pizza place in Texas nearly got away with the crime before those meddling employees got in the way and stopped him.

When all was said and done, a female employee at the Denton restaurant got the shock of her life when the man under the disguise turned out to be her father!

Surveillance video inside the Pizza Patron captured Stephanie Martinez handing over money after being accosted by the robber, who was wearing a wig and sunglasses and carrying what turned out to be a toy gun.

Seconds later, her co-workers come to the rescue, punching the suspect three times and knocking him out cold.

"All I know is he ain't getting that money," said Rudy Sandoval, one of the co-workers. "So I hit him again, I hit him three times and he was out."

That's when Martinez made the awful discovery, which police determined she had no connection to, despite handing her father the cash drawer.

"I'm like, 'Stop! Stop!' and he's like, 'Why, who is it? Who is that?' And I just looked at him in the face and I told him it's my dad," she says.

Martinez was not charged in the robbery, but her father, mother, and even her husband were all arrested after it was determined they all planned on robbing the joint. Her husband confessed he knew they were going to commit a robbery, but he didn't know it would be there.

"My dad's the one that told him. He said, 'Stop here, stop here,' and they're like, OK," she said.

And it was Martinez who left to call her boss, and the police, on her family.

"I told him we got robbed, and I couldn't talk, my hands could barely move. I'm like, 'My own dad,'" she says.

Each suspect is charged with aggravated robbery.

Martinez remains employed at the restaurant, but has not worked since the incident on Friday. Her father is free on $50,000 bail, while her mother and husband are being held on immigration violations.
