Character actor Steven Gilborn, who played Ellen DeGeneres' father in the 1990s sitcom "Ellen," died Jan. 2 at age 72 of cancer. Gilborn had more than 110 TV credits to his name, as well as a number of New York stage appearances. He's shown here with actress Alice Hirson, who played DeGeneres' mother Lois on the show.
