NYC Crane Collapse (May)

A construction crane collapsed Friday on New York's Upper East Side, smashing into a high-rise apartment building and killing at least one person. Firefighters combed through the wreckage at East 91st Street and First Avenue, searching for survivors.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg vowed to investigate the "unacceptble and intolerable" fatal Upper East Side crane collapse which occurred on May 30, 2008.
