RFK Remembered

Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, D-N.Y., was was shot by Sirhan Sirhan on June 5, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, shortly after claiming victory in the crucial California Democratic presidential primary. He died the next day.

Before running his brother's 1960 presidential campaign, RFK worked as chief counsel for the Senate Rackets Committee. In that capacity he investigated corruption in trade unions, which won him national recognition. He is pictured here with Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa, right.
