Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. is the junior United States Senator from Illinois and a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 presidential election. Obama has emphasized ending the Iraq War, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care as his top three priorities as president. But it may be the candidate's campaign slogans, "Change" and "Yes We Can" that most resonate with Democrats, liberal Republicans and Independents alike.
