There's a new era of baseball in Queens. Citi Field, the New York Mets' beautiful new stadium celebrated its first Opening Day on April 13, 2009 when the Amazins hosted the San Diego Padres. This is the first regular season Major League Baseball game being played at the new venue which replaced Shea stadium as the Mets home field.
