Retailers Offering Rebate Check Deals

Big retailers like Wal-Mart, Sears and Home Depot are hoping to attract shoppers with various deals and discounts as the Treasury Department begins rolling out $152 billion in tax rebate checks.

Sears Holdings Corp., which includes Sears and Kmart, is inviting customers to convert checks into gift cards, which they'll increase the value of by 10 percent. The deal is good from May 14 to July 19, 2008, and the gift cards can be redeemed at any Sears, Kmart or Lands' End retail stores.
