Brooklyn Cyclones Host Salute To Pregnancy At Game
Lamaze Breathing Class, 3rd Trimester First Pitch Highlight 'Bellies And Baseball: A Salute To Pregnancy'
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
It's not the usual pre-game warmup.
The Brooklyn Cyclones offered a Lamaze class in centerfield before Sunday evening's game. It's one of the activities for "Bellies and Baseball: A Salute to Pregnancy."
Other events at the theme night included a run/walk around the bases, a throwing of a ceremonial first pitch by women in their third trimester, and singing on the field during the seventh inning stretch.
A team spokesman says any expectant mom who agrees to name her child "Brooklyn" or "Cy" gets free season tickets for life.
The Brooklyn Cyclones is a minor league Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, playing in the New York - Penn League.
